Gringotts has been too good in the $3 million Big Dance and $1 million Gong, and he's sure to be hard to beat again in the time-honoured showpiece at headquarters. The support card at Randwick inlcudes the Razor Sharp, the Christmas Cup and the Inglis Nursery.

Elsewhere, Perth's Pinnacles carnival concudes with the running of the $1.5 million Gold Rush and the Brisbane summer heats up with the Gateway, the Tails Stakes, the Just Now and the Bribie. In Victoria it's Pakenham Cup day
